ETIAS for Israeli citizens

Israeli citizens will need to apply for ETIAS from 2025 on if they want to travel to the EU and Schengen Area. Learn about the requirements and application process for the electronic travel authorization ETIAS.

Are Israeli citizens eligible for ETIAS?

As residents from a visa-waiver country, Israeli citizens can travel to EU and Schengen countries visa-free if they only enter for tourism, short business trips, medical treatments, or transit for up to 90 days.

However, visa-free travel to the EU and Schengen Area will be different soon: from 2025 on, you will have to apply for an ETIAS electronic travel authorization before entering one or more EU and Schengen countries.

Will Israeli citizens need ETIAS to enter Europe?

Israeli citizens can use ETIAS or a Schengen visa to travel to the EU and Schengen countries in the future. However, some European countries won’t participate in the ETIAS program and will, therefore, still require a visa after 2025. To find out if you need a visa or can travel with ETIAS, please check the list of participating ETIAS countries.

What are the benefits of ETIAS for Israeli citizens?

The ETIAS system makes traveling to the EU and the Schengen Area safer and is designed to combat identity fraud, misuse of travel documents, terrorism, and serious crime. For Israeli citizens traveling to Europe, ETIAS is much faster, easier, and more affordable than a Schengen visa.
