As residents from a visa-waiver country, Israeli citizens can travel to EU and Schengen countries visa-free if they only enter for tourism, short business trips, medical treatments, or transit for up to 90 days.
However, visa-free travel to the EU and Schengen Area will be different soon: from 2025 on, you will have to apply for an ETIAS electronic travel authorization before entering one or more EU and Schengen countries.
In contrast to the Schengen visa, the ETIAS travel authorization is easy to get and affordable. Since ETIAS is not a visa, it does not have to be processed through the embassies, making the approval process a lot quicker as well. All differences between ETIAS and a Schengen visa at a glance:

Israeli citizens can use ETIAS or a Schengen visa to travel to the EU and Schengen countries in the future. However, some European countries won’t participate in the ETIAS program and will, therefore, still require a visa after 2025.
